WHY THIS WEBSITE
It began in late Summer 2021. One of our beloved pets was starting to act differently and the vet diagnosed her with hip dysplasia. She was a 13-year old Maine Coon mix and this arthritic condition is common among aging cats of this breed.
The vet prescribed a daily dose of an NSAID called Meloxicam, which she said was a wonderful medication that would really help Zoe’s condition and comfort level. 46 days later, our Zoe was in complete renal failure. To make a long story short, this medication had a black label warning on it from the FDA. It was only meant for long-term use in dogs because it was known to potentially cause renal failure in cats.
Multiple ER trips and ongoing appointments with an animal internist helped for awhile but fast-forward 9 months and our Zoe was NOT doing well at all. We realized that all of our attempts to right this wrong were not working. It was time to let her go and to try to forgive our trusted vet. An at-home euthanasia vet came to our home on June 3, 2021. At 4pm, we prayed over Zoe and released her to the Lord. As she gazed out of our bedroom window for the last time, with me singing in her ear, a white butterfly flew by the window and that was the last thing she saw before leaving this world.
Even with the prayer, I felt distressed over a real question in my heart…where is she now? I wanted to believe with all my heart that animals went to heaven but I wasn’t sure and my soul was in distress wondering the fate of my precious Zoe. I knew she was full of love and I fully loved her. If God IS love, then wouldn’t she go to Him, the source of all love? I hoped, but I didn’t know. I do know now and I thank God that I now have this knowledge.
I was searching for answers…what happens to the souls of our pets when they die? I found this book- Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates. It provided immense comfort and biblical evidence for the fact that animals DO have souls and that their souls do go on. This led me to searching for other books on the topic and I began searching Youtube as well for any videos that might provide insight and evidence to support my newfound hope.
In this process, I discovered John Burke and read his book Imagine Heaven. Mr. Burke was an agnostic engineer when he first began studying near-death experiences a few decades ago, after reading one of the first books published on the topic. He has since interviewed 1500+ people who have been completely clinically dead, with no heartbeat or brainwaves, who have returned to describe the most real, most incredible experiences of exactly what happened to them at the moment of death and what happened next.
The accounts, though personal and individualized, describe the same place, the same being, the same love, the same light, the same beauty, the same everything. I came to learn that, in recent years, this has started happening all over the world by the MILLIONS. God is revealing Himself to us through NDEs and people need to know about them, understand who He is, and rest in the peace of knowing that this life is truly only the beginning and the REAL life is actually what comes next. Jesus told us that our life here on Earth is just a mist, here one minute and gone the next. We are here to fulfill a purpose and then step into the real life, the next life…a life with Him that will literally last for eternity….if we choose it.
Hearing these accounts has transformed my perception of life and death and re-centered my thinking on what’s truly important. This is knowledge that everyone should have and take comfort in. This website is a compilation of a small fraction of NDEs that are happening, but enough to give the viewer a true glimpse of Heaven and a deeper understanding of a Creator that is Himself both indescribable light and immeasurable love.
